Dear Parents,
Please be advised that
the Childcare Center will be closed Friday
October 26th and Monday October 29th 2012 for the Eid
Al-adha Holiday.
Program Changes:
·
We now have science lab periods on Tuesday and
Thursdays in the morning at 10:15am. Teachers will prepare a small experiment
or fun activity to learn, like balancing weight on a scale, baking soda and
vinegar, trying to mix oil and water, and any other exciting and educational
activities to do with the children.

We also have Library periods on Tuesdays at
9:15am, and on. At this time the Librarian sings with the
children a song and reads them a story related to this month’s theme.

It is important to note that movie time is only
watched for 10 or 15 minutes at the most. Examples of these educational movies
are; the Magic School Bus, Signing Time, and many others.

Themes:
- Fall – activities and circle time will be implemented around this theme to enhance the child’s learning. This will help the child to understand and identify the different things that go on during the autumn season. The leaves changing colours, the leaves falling off the trees, and the weather getting colder soon it will be winter. We will be going for a natural walk to look at everything and talk about it, and getting activities for the science lab that involves concepts of Fall.

Islamic learning – at circle time we
will recite Surat Al-Fatiha each time and the Duaa before entering the
bathroom.
“Allahumma in-nee a'oothu bika minal khubu-thee wal khabaa ith”
اللهم نِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبْثِ وَالْخَبَائِث “Allahumma in-nee a'oothu bika minal khubu-thee wal khabaa ith”

Friendly Reminders:
- Please don’t forget to pay before the 15th of every month.
- On a board in our room is a Wish Tree. This has all the things that we would like to have to enhance our environment for anyone who is interested. If you have any of the items on the list that you would like to donate, we would appreciate it if you could donate it to the childcare center.
- It is now getting colder outside, but the weather is fluctuating between warm and cold. Please provide your child with more layers to accommodate to the weather outside.
- · Please kindly remember to sign your child in and out on the preschool attendance when dropping off and picking up your child
